About:
In high school, Charles was expelled. He later graduated at the Luzac college, before starting a study in transportation and logistics in Venlo because his father owned a coach business. He did not like this study though, so he went to the Hotel Management School in Maastricht. His parents liked the idea, as he would be living on campus. For Charly, this meant that he started working in hotels in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. By doing this, he could afford his car (Renault 5) and he met many senior students.
At one point, many companies would call him whenever they needed part-time employees. The company would pay him 5 guilders per person, and the jobpers paid him 5 guilders as well. He decided it would be a better idea to earn monen on an hourly basis though. In 1994, he founded Mise en Place, together with a business associate. In that same year, Charly graduated after 6 years of Hotel Management School (‘a snail sees more of the road than a hare’).
Charly gets his energy from talking to people, motivating and inspiring them. He would like to continue doing this, for all employees of the Mise en Place group.
Each year, he organizes a beer trip with beerclub Plato.O.St. He founded beerclub Plato ’90 during his studies at the Hotel Management School, and Plato.O.St. is the alumni network of this beerclub. At the moment, Plato.O.St. has 50 members, with many different positions in the business world.
Charly is full of energy, and likes to share that with others. He often delivers lectures, trainings and speeches on various locations. That is his way to become relaxed.
